Until May 8th, Ronald Dagonnier (1967) invites visitors to lose themselves in the burning meanders of a digital and sound installation entitled "Fahrenheit 451": an introspective journey sublimated by the destructive power of fire entirely created digitally. The thunderous soundtrack, reproducing the crackling and typical blaze of a fire, adds to the immersive experience in which the artist invites us. Specifically created for this exhibition, the work perfectly embraces the architecture of the library. The smoking volutes lick the edges of the alcove and spread at high speed along the walls.

The profound meaning of this work is left to the visitor's appreciation, who can freely project themselves. Nevertheless, the artist proposes a projection imbued with a threatening energy, the frightening power of fire leading to the destruction of literary and artistic works.

Since his beginnings, Ronald Dagonnier has been a committed artist. He likes to take a critical look at major societal issues such as ecology or migration. He also particularly enjoys dealing with the excesses of hypercapitalism. An artist deeply attached to projection and video art, Ronald Dagonnier has been trying in recent years to materialize his research again through digitally created media (3D prints, holograms...) or, as he calls them, his "videographic objects".

Jusqu'au 08 mai, Ronald Dagonnier (1967) invite les visiteurs à se perdre dans les méandres brûlants d’une installation numérique et sonore intitulée "Fahrenheit 451" : un voyage introspectif sublimé par la puissance destructrice du feu entièrement réalisé numériquement. La bande son tonitruante, reproduisant le crépitement et l’embrasement typique d’un incendie, ajoute encore à l’expérience immersive dans laquelle nous invite l’artiste. Spécifiquement créée pour cette exposition, l’œuvre épouse parfaitement l’architecture de la bibliothèque. Les volutes fumantes lèchent les arrêtes de l’alcôve et se répandent à grande vitesse le long des murs.

La signification profonde de cette œuvre est laissée à l’appréciation du visiteur qui peut librement se projeter. Il n’en reste pas moins que l’artiste propose une projection empreinte d’une énergie menaçante, l’effrayante puissance du feu menant à la destruction d’œuvres littéraires et artistiques.

Depuis ses débuts, Ronald Dagonnier est un artiste engagé. Il aime porter son regard critique sur des sujets sociétaux majeurs tels que l’écologie ou la migration. Il affectionne également tout particulièrement de traiter des dérives de l’hypercapitalisme.

Artiste profondément attaché à la projection et à l’art vidéo, Ronald Dagonnier tente ces dernières années de matérialiser à nouveau ses recherches par l’intermédiaire de support réalisés numériquement (impressions 3D, hologrammes…) ou comme il les nomme ses « Objets vidéographiques ».
