Collateral Damages

"Collateral Damages" is an AR application that was created to be installed in the streets of the city of Toulon. It displays a nuclear submarine firing a torpedo at a protester, highlighting the disproportionate use of force.

Collateral damage: This term was used for the first time during the Vietnam War by the United States Armed Forces to designate friendly fire or destruction of civilian facilities and its victims. The phrase "friend fire" is narrower with respect to victims (only military friendly), but broader on the grounds (a friendly shot may also be a shot just after misidentification of the target, a collateral damage is a shot touching something other than his target.

Dommage collatéral: Cette expression a été utilisée pour la première fois durant la guerre du Viêt Nam par les Forces armées des États-Unis pour désigner les tirs amis ou les destructions des installations civiles et ses victimes. L'expression « tir ami » est plus étroite concernant les victimes (uniquement des militaires amis), mais plus large sur les motifs (un tir ami peut aussi être un tir juste après erreur d'identification de la cible, un dommage collatéral est un tir touchant autre chose que sa cible.
