"Monotheism reproduction"

Projection device integrated inside a telescope.

A screen embedded in a telescope invites the viewer to peer, as if through the windows of buildings, at couples engaged in sexual acts. Each couple bears symbolic attributes of the three monotheistic religions — Islam, Catholicism, and Judaism. By staging human intimacy, the installation seeks to highlight, with irony, the absurdity and rigidity of certain religious dogmas.

Un écran intégré dans un télescope invite le spectateur à observer, comme à travers les fenêtres d’immeubles, des couples en plein acte sexuel. Chaque couple est doté d’attributs symboliques des trois religions monothéistes — islam, catholicisme et judaïsme. L’installation met en scène l’intimité humaine pour souligner, avec ironie, l’absurdité et la rigidité de certains dogmes religieux.
